Alberto Castagnetti

The Arena Group, through its C.E.O Cristiano Portas, wishes to express its heartfelt condolences for the sudden and distressing death of Alberto Castagnetti. At this time of great sadness, the whole of Team Arena feels very close to Alberto’s family and to all those who loved him.

Many have described Alberto as a “wizard of swimming”, but he did not do magic. The reality was that he obtained magnificent results through hard work and unsurpassed professionalism. These were the talents that allowed him to write his name on the greatest chapters of Italian swimming history.

We are confident that his strength of character, his passionate dedication to his work and his vast knowledge of the swimming world, also outside Italy, will continue to be a source of inspiration for all of Italian swimmers, swimming coaches and managers.
